    Specs:
    Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520
    Core i5 - 3210M
    AMD Radeon 7730M 2GB
    500 GB HDD
    4GB RAM

I upgraded my bios from A02 to A10 (my bad, I had it coming, I thought newer would be better)

Now, I downloaded the update package 7520A10.exe (from official dell UK site) and run it from desktop, it extracted and installed. But after installation when it automatically restarted, it says "starting windows (with windows 7 logo)" and then a black screen. No login page is displayed. But the laptop boots perfectly in safe modes.

Please help me for once, I would never do a bios upgrade in my life again.

    well...............you had a bad "flash"

earlier you had to flash BIOS by a reboot-software................but now days its a regular "driver.exe" package.

    # try to reboot the PC with a windows/recovery CD and then press F2...

    # if that not works....you must burn a IMAGE CD with BIOS on it and then reboot with that CD and reinstall BIOS.........(practical same thing you do with the windows/recovery cd)

ps...i use NERO to burn this BIOS-upgrade CDs..........if you not have NERO...use imageburn...its free
if you not find any BIOS in right image format....call DELL and they send you a download link)
    ..........................................
    .......................
i assume you tried to start the PC in safe mode and then choose " backup bios and flash bios with new settings" ?

It doesn't sound like you had a bad flash if you are getting to "starting Windows". Can you still access BIOS before Windows starts loading?

@commander: Yes, i can access the bios by hitting f2, i can also start windows in safe modes but no matter what it wont start in normal mode. It doesn't get past the starting windows point. I just see a black screen after that. I even see that my bios has updated to A10 from A2 by hitting f2.

something went wrong during the BIOS flash....call it whatever you like...i call it bad flash

you clearly say after the windows logo its BLACK.......im a right ???

so.......reinstall BIOS...how to do...i explained in my first post.

ps...you not the first person in the world who got issues after flashing bios.......its not that super unusual.

pss...its quite important you not have any programs/softwares running at the same time when you flash the bios....its quite sensitive process.

where can i get that phoenix flash, will it work on my dell ?

Edit: I booted in safe mode and again tried to run "7520A10.exe" from desktop and it gave me this error.

Also, the phoenix tool. Isn't it only for phoenix bios ?

    Edit: Nevermind, I re-installed windows. Thanks/
