I ordered a replacment inverter off of ebay after seeing how easy it was supposed to be to replace it. I'm stuck. I removed the bezel and the screen and still cannot find the inverter. I also removed the area around the power button and still do not see an obvious location of the inverter.
    HELP HELP HELP.
I want my laptop back and of course dell wont help. Shouldn't it be just under the screen? Why the heck is my inspiron 1545 different then the ones in ALL the videos. Can't find one like mine anywhere.
My screen was working fine and then one day white lines just randomly appeared. I was told to replace the inverter so I really want to get it to work. It works on an external.
    PLEASE HELP.
    Thanks

Some 1545 are CCFL and some are LED. I do not believe the LED ones have an inverter that can be replaced, but the while lines are definitely not an inverter issue. You probably need a new screen.

On an LED, there is no per say "inverter" it is part of the screen. Just replace the entire panel, 1545 parts are dirt cheap and I'm pretty sure any 15.6" 1368x768 or 1600x900 panel will work..
