Can anyone comment on the difference in build quality between a Dell Inspiron 1545 and a Vostro A860?
-
the vostro A860 has a crappy video card, the intel 3100
the Inspiron has the better 4500MHD card
But in the outlet you can get more for your money:
-
I was planning on purchasing from the Outlet but had an offer from someone to sell me their Vostro A860 that's a few days old for $300.
-
also the intel 3100 card is really bad at games, I mean really bad............ are you sure its not worth the money to get something a little better?
The Vostro is worth 300 sure but I showed you two I could find quick and one processor is a core duo ( no real performance difference between the A860 core 2 duo and the core duo 2000 chip), the celeron duo is actually the only celeron chip I recommend at all (I hate celerons!) -
I should have made it more clear in my previous post that what you posted before confirmed my gut feeling not to go for the Vostro. I don't like where the HD is located on the Vostro anyway.
-
Just wanted to push you to consider the options -
These were the specs of the Vostro A860 that I was offered for $300.
Intel ®Core™2 Duo T5870 (2.06GHz,2MB L2 Cache,800MHz FSB)
2GB,DDR2,800MHZ
250GB3 SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 Blue
8X DVD+/-RW
Wireless Networking 802.11b/g
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic, Service Pack 1, English -
I was wondering why did you set your eyes on Vostro A860 when there is a replacement model that's competitive to Inspiron 15/1545 which has slightly better internal hardware. The Intel 4500mhd to point out...
Comparing both A860 and 1015, you could see some obvious improvement.
I believe that 1015 is 95% cosmetically identical to Inspiron 15/1545.
