Hello there, got a few problems that Dell seem unable to help me with, hope someone can shed some light on these issues.

When connecting my laptop to my LCD TV, a connection sound is made but no image shows up on my TV. Then a message appears on the laptop saying that Task Scheduler is closing Windows for security reasons. I had no problem with this before, it's only started happening in the last week but it's happening every time.

Also, when I play DVDs I'm having constant audio problems. Through Media Direct DVDs are unwatchable due to the audio skipping constantly, through VLC Media player it's better but the sound is constantly stuttering.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as Dell's so-called customer service is not helping!

Maybe your cable fried or something? Check that. . . If it worked before and now all the sudden doesn't work, I am guessing something broke or you installed something that messed it up. I am guessing, not sure.

I have another, more expensive cable so I'll give that a try. Haven't installed anything recently that would cause it to stop. Would system restore help?

As for Media Direct, I don't get why this works so badly, checked again and the video AND audio is skipping, even with internet off!

    Regarding your audio skipping problem,
If you have Sigmatel audio in your 1525, right click the audio icon in the taskbar go to playback devices, when that opens click on speakers then click on properties.
When Speakers properties opens click on the Enhancements tab and check the box that says disable all enhancements.
Click OK on that window and the other one to close them both then try Media Direct again. Disabling audio enhancements seemed to fix the skipping problem somewhat on my system.
Recently after getting a new hardrive I did a complete clean reinstall of the whole system, including Media Direct 3.5 and installed only the latest drivers from the Dell website, none from the original driver CD.
Since then I have had no audio skipping problems at all, I believe it was due to a bad device driver in the original Dell install, I dont know which driver it was though.
