    Dell Inspiron 1525 problem

    Guys, I have a problem.

    My lappy hung up and I switched it off.Next day, when i switched it on, after the BIOS screen , nothing happened.Just a blank screen.

    Running diagnostics I got the following error

    "2000-0146"

    After googling. I found that It meant a hard disc failure.

    I also ran linux to grab some important file but it said that

    "Improper shutdown,ntfs drive in use etc. etc. "

    Also I cant run the OS reinstallation disc to run the winRE. :eek:


    What should I do ? Any way to recover my files ?

    Remove your HDD, use it as an external w/ either a SATA to USB cable or an enclosure, and hope for the best.

    BTW, sorry I missed your 15 minute window before you bumped yourself. I should I have known better since you are the most important person in the world.
