reformat it using the dell recovery disks. thats the easiest thing to do but you'll lose all the stuff you have.

difficult to troubleshoot over a forum, pass it to someone who knows about computers and ask them to fix it. sounds like a driver error or hardware failure.

Put in the recovery disk and run the diagnostics. Tell us what happens.

I had this same exact problem.

I accidentally hit the media direct button and turned it off midway to it booting up and got the blue screen as well whenever I'd try to load up Windows.

After calling Dell (I actually got a CS which was helpful  ) that pointed me to the OS restore cd. Unfortunately while on the phone, it didn't work and he recommended that I bring my laptop to a shop to back up my drive and then do a complete system restore. I thanked him for his help and said goodbye.

    WHat worked for me was:

Load up the cd, hit F12.
Click "Repair" on the lower left hand side.
    Click "Repair start up registry".
    Reboot.

I had to do this a few times before it worked.. it booted up normally to my desktop. SO RELIEVED!!

It seems a lot of people have had this problem.. hope this helps someone.

You can be sure I'm never going to touch the dell media direct button anytime in the near future..god help me if accidentally I do again.
