I have accidently spilt water on my dell 1525 keyboard and now, when I power on, the keyboard does not work. everything works fine, its just none of the keys on my keyboard or maybe one or two from time to time work.

I have tried taking all of the keys off and then gettin the hairdryer on the go but nothing seems to work.

    Any ideas???

    Thanks alot!!!

Look up the service manual for the Inspiron 1525 and follow the instructions to disconnect and remove the keyboard. If it's anything like the process in my Studio 1535, it should be a fairly simple, straightforward procedure. Dry out the keyboard from underneath once it's removed, and air dry the components below inside the laptop as well. But be careful, and use cool air if possible.

I have done what you said, but would putting it next to an open window work for the cold air??

It doesn't have to be cold, just not scorchingly hot. And unless it's a really windy day, I don't think an open window has the capacity to move enough air to dry it out properly, unless you place a fan in the window.
