Or perhaps not. I'm concurrently running an Acer, and i'm doing work on identical apps with each computer. To me, the Dell looks weak in comparison, people of all colours and creeds take on a yellowish tinge that just isn't replicated by the older Acer.

My question, twofold, first of all, do you guys see anything similar with the Dell? Pity if it's the case because it's a generally agreeable machine even with Windows 7 which i'm not sold on.

Secondly, is there an adjustment that can be made? To colour/contrast? I only know how to alter brightness. Any/all help appreciated. Nice forum.

You could buy a color calibration device like a ColorVision Spyder3 Express (~$80-100); it will analyze your display and create a color profile. I bought one a few years ago and use it on all my displays, it works very well.

Beyond that, screen quality is generally the same amongst manufacturers selling budget notebooks (and even higher-end ones). If you want a better display you're going to have to spend a bit more.

Ummm....the Dell 1525 is now at least three generations old and most have to be well over 2 years old by now.

How is that relevant to color calibration?
