is the size and weight of the Dell Inspiron 1520 that big of an issue? the only thing holding me back from buying this is the weight and the size issue and i cant decide between this and hp laptops. is it that big of a deal or should i just get a dell? i like dell more cuz it got better graphics options than hp.

What are you ultimately going to be doing? If you really need portability, get the XPS series or a smaller Inspiron. The weight is a little because of the bulkiness, but overall its an awesome laptop and I love it as a desktop replacement for the price I paid.

For me weight is not an issue and neither is size... But frequently carrying it and roaming here is a bit tedious.....

It depends on how much you travel with it. I take mine everywhere so size and weight is a huge issue. I like to be able to grab my notebook under my arm and hit a coffee shop etc... This is why I got the 1330

Its really a change from my latitude x300 in terms or portability (i can actually fell this in my backpack or in my notebook case) however its doable in terms of carrying. Its not that bad, and the performance/price is great.

Maybe its because I've never had a laptop before, but I don't find the Inspiron 1520 that heavy or bulky. I haven't taken it many places yet, but carrying it around my house, and over to a friends house, I haven't found it annoying at all.
