    Hey,

Just placed a phone order on a custom Dell Inspiron 1520. Ordered the jet black lid which seemed to be cheaper than the rest.

Got my order details through and they've checked out fine, but my expected shipping date is 18th of October. Considering the wheels of the order got put into motion today, isn't that a bit of a long time? 5 weeks! :(

Anyone had this? I thought the stock issues were under control?

Get a Vostro 1500 instead. Email the dell rep you got it from and ask him what date the vostro 1500 would be delivered.

You can still cancel -paying a deposit doesn mean anything. Just phone up Dell Customer care and day you want to cancel becuase you were not told about the long delay when ordering.

I ordered a Vostro 1500 yesterday after hearing about all the delays the Inspiron 1520 was having.

    Order date: 9/9/07
    Now in production: 9/10/07
    Estimated Shipping Date is: 9/18/07

most likely the 7100 is the hold up, the same vostro will get to you in less than half that time just fyi and be cheaper as well unless you got the inspiron with a coupon

I thought the 7300 was the hold up. Are the 7100s running scarce now too?
