But it's struggling on a few things such as WoW and Black Ops. I'm in the market for an upgrade and was wondering if either of the following would be a viable option or if not, can anyone suggest something else?

I wouldn't really recommend a processor upgrade. Your max GPU would be an 8600M GT (if you have it) and really a processor upgrade wouldn't really help.

But if you absolutely want to:

T8300, T9300 (if you want) but many benchmarks show that more cache and a few hundred MHz do not aid in better performance in games/overall use.

OK, thanks for that. I do have the 8600M GT and so do I have any options when it comes to upgrading the GPU too?

Nope unfortunately not. My Vostro 1500 shared exactly the same chassis as your notebook. It's capped at the 8600M GT which is a decent card for moderate gaming. If you already have a T7500, 8600M GT I would save up funds for a new notebook, alot of promising models for like 700-800.
