    Dell Inspiron 1520 - Battery life?

    I've searched and I got a quote from Dell being about 5hrs, but that's likely assuming practically an idle PC with brightness on 0%, etc... Any real world data yet? I'm especially interested in a quote with the 8600.

    I was just at a Dell Kiosk on Long Island. The rep there told me that Dell has the battery life of the 9 cell at 9 hours. He told me that real world was around 7 hours. He also said that just using the DVD playing feature doubled the numbers. I found it all a little hard to believe.

    I reckon 9 cell 4-5 hours, and 6 cell around 3 hours with normal use.

    at screen brightness 2 clicks from minimum, and balanced power setting i get around 3 to 3.25 hours, with wifi on

    but my t61 is worse at only 1.45 hours with 4 cell battery
