I haven't even had this laptop for a year, and a blue vertical line appeared not to long ago
on the right side of my LCD screen. If you position the screen a certian way the line goes
away. If you push the back oh the LCD screen the line goes away. Is there a fix to this
besides having dell come and fix it?

I need step by step instructions, since every thread that I've looked at has talked about
moving cables and tightening things that I have no idea what they're talking about.

How far are you form a year? The warranty will expire, so I suggest you call about it and try to get a screen replacement.

I got it as a gift in december, so I'm guessing it will expire in decemeber.
Theres no quick fix for this? I just hate waiting for them to show up at
    the house :\

After pushing the back of the LCD and letting go, does the line come back?

Yes the line does come back after letting go.
I called the technician, and he gave me all of these tests.
A guy is supposed to come to replace the screen and my keyboard (diffrent problem)
    sometime next week.

I've been reading a lot about this "line" and apparently its a wide
known problem with dell computers, theres no fix for it besides
getting it replaced. If you call their technical support, they're really
nice and they'll walk you through the steps.

My specs? I'm not too sure how to get those =\

i had a line on my computer. replaced the LCD and the line went away for a week. Then it came back even with the new replaced LCD. This time it switched side from being on the left side on my 1st lcd to my right side on the 2nd lcd. After replacing about 9 parts in total they replaced my whole computer. Which was good i guess since i had a defective 9300 and they sent me a XPS 1710.

Oh god I hope that doesn't happen to me.
Well, its good in a way. I have the 5 year warrenty, so if any
thing happens, even the slightest thing, I'll get it fixed.
