I just got this new computer used, like new, off of ebay. i didn't notice performance issues but didn't use it long before i upgraded it to windows 8.1 and now when copying files like a large folder of videos from my USB 3.0 hard drive to the drive on the computer the videos playing on my computer gets choppy, it also affects the music a little bit, and firefoxs gets unusable. FF keeps freezing. Basically i can't do anything till the copying gets done. my older and slower Acer Aspire 5733z-4851 doesn't have this problem at all. its on windows 7. i bought this new computer with hopes of improvement over my Acer so i can do better HD Video Editing. i don't have money for a high end laptop for this kind of thing. Is there anything i can do to fix this?

oh and this new computer has a i5 4200u CPU, 6GB RAM, 750GB HD,
    thanks.
