Dell Inspiron 15 3527.
On the bottom of the laptop, there is no Windows Certificate of Authenticity with Product Key. Is that now normal?
The last time I bought a Dell laptop was two years ago, and it did have the Windows Certificate of Authenticity. Is it normal that Dell laptops now don't have them?
I want to clean install Windows, so I would need the legit Product Key for this laptop.

Did you look inside the battery compartment?

Hey, you're right! I've never had a laptop that had the sticker inside the battery compartment.
Thanks! -
All laptops shipped with Windows 8/8.1 have their license keys embedded in their BIOSes. No need to enter them manually upon OS installation.

This new laptop came with Windows 7, so entering the Product Key was required after clean install.

In case of Windows 7, product key indeed needs to be entered upon, or up to 3 days after the OS installation. Battery compartment is usually where laptop manufacturers put the OS product keys.
