Dell announced their Inspiron "Z" line including the 14z and 15z several months ago, but they are very difficult to find on the Dell Home website. The drop-down menu for Laptops shows only the 11z and regular Inspiron 14 and 15 models. The only way to see the 14z or 15z is to select either the Inspiron 14 or Inspiron 15 Product Page which (usually) shows three different configurations of the specific model. The Inspiron 14/15 each show three of the regular non-Z models and a 4th option is the 14z or 15z. Even if someone was able to quickly navigate to this page, there's still only one configuration of the 14z/15z offered.

The 14z/15z have a lot of potential but very few prospective buyers even know they exist.

A visit to the Dell Small & Medium Business website held a surprise for me- the 14z and 15z are listed in the drop-down Laptops menu! Clicking on either will take you to a Product Page (just like the one at DWs) where you can choose from three different starting configs, just like on most other product pages!

Why are the Inspiron 14z and 15z so difficult to locate on the Home website? And why are they equally easy to find from the SMB website?

If they intended to sell these primarily as business models, it's much more likely they'd be branded Vostro. They also wouldn't have a rainbow of color choices, which these do.

As it stands, I'd venture that they've lost some sales because the potential buyers read about the 14z/15z but simply couldn't locate it when they went to Dell.com! The ideal solution would be to make these two 'Z' models just as visible on the Home site as they are on the SMB site.

Until then, I'll keep referring folks to the 14z/15z on the SMB site. I know of at least two who have placed an order for one of the two...
