    Dell Inspiron 1440 can't install windows :-(

    hello to all frinds!
    i got Dell insprion with core 2 duo 2.20 ghz with 3 gb ram n 350 hdd
    i have deleted all partition on it due to i want to intall windows 7
    now whn i formatt all drive i found tht at 56% it givs me an hash file error
    it says no hard drive is found wht to do now i create 3 partion still the same prob i found an hidden 3 gb drive using by system file i also deleted now whn i install xp also it gives me a blue screen
    and i try installin win 7 it says it givs an error
    plz pal tell me wht to do m 'd up!
    it is very crappy tim for me.......................!

    Sounds like you probably have a bad HDD. Try running some sort of disk checker and see if it turns up any errors.

    Yes the hard drive is failing get a new hard drive

    if in warranty call dell and tell them they should exchange the HD.

    You can confirm this by running the boot diagnostics. Press the Fn button at the same time as the power button when powering up your computer, and let the diagnostics run. However, it does indeed sound, as the others have suggested, that your HDD is giving up the ghost.
