Went to the one in NoVa (Near Glebe Rd. and Fairfax Dr.).

At first, I didn't notice anything different, then I saw the tapered edge like the 1525.

No I don't have pictures as I was in a rush. If I go back, I'll try to snap a few.

I work at Staples (canada). Turns out we will carry almost all ink, a couple laptops (my guess is a Vostro, Latitude, and/or Inspiron) and 1/2 tower pc's as well as select printers. Pics please!

If it is like the 1525 then they took out the 8400GS option?

Good to have some proofs. I really can't believe we will see a brand new model at Staples first. However, even without any pics, I am sure it is going to be like the 1525, just half to one inch shorter in each side, like the HP DV2xxx and DV6xxx. From the design of 1525, 1425 probably can retain all the ports, including 4 USB ports. Since 1525 is not going to have a higher res screen in the near future, it makes 1425 a worthwhile wait. I don't need built in video card.

I believe by the time 1425 is available, Dell will add the higher res option back to 1525.

Today's Staples flyer shows that Staples Canada now carries the Inspiron 1525 and 1720 and XPS M1330 laptops. Interestingly, none of them have AMD CPU's, despite the recent stories.

They also carry Dell ink and some Dell monitors, printers and desktops.

So, I expect the kiosks will be closing in Canada too now.

It's funny that Staples "Business" Depot does not actually carry any business computers from any brand. They just carry consumer laptops like everybody else. Nobody in this town has any business computers in stock. You have to order them sight unseen.

Although there probably will be a 1425 somewhere in the near future, Staples does not carry one yet. Nor does anyone else. What you saw was probably a 1525. You just mistook it for a 1425. Go back and prove me wrong...
