Does anyone else own one of these machines?

Bought one 18 months ago because of the price (£350 - $700). Opted for the six cell battery upgrade and it would run for a good 3 hours, sometimes more :)

Now it'll struggle to pass an hour and MobileMeter says it's capacity is 19wHr, big difference from the original 56.

Is this normal for laptop batteries? (and does anyone else own one of these specific models and has had the battery go the same way?)

I figured it'd last a good couple of years at least before the battery would degrade this much, especially since it's £80 for a replacement :(

Buy one off ebay cheaper... But yer if you use it often then its bound to wear down.. Dell cover batteries for a year i think.. No longer. So your out of your warranty period.

TBH I think what I've done wrong is not removing the battery when running on AC for a long period of time - I don't charge the battery up and down all that often :(

Not many batteries on ebay - I won't buy a Chinese fake.

This machine's a bit heavy for travelling with anyway so I'm thinking about buying a used ultraportable.... new thread time for that ;)
