I have my daughters old laptop, I have taken the 256 memory card out and replaced it with a 512 mb. It is still as slow as a snail. Can I put the 256 back in to the second slot and use it along with the 512? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Pretty sure 1150s don't need matching pairs, so you can use the 256 as well.

If the machine is very slow I suspect that isn't down to memory

Thanks Nankuru, I'll try it and see if it helps.
