hey, my friend paid me to clean up his really old dell inspiron 1100, piece of garbage, and i cleaned it up as good as i could, but now, the cdrom drive wont read any disks - i went into the device manager and there was a little exclamation point by the drive

its a MATSHI-TA (no hyphen) UJDA360, ive looked around but i couldnt seem to find any of the drivers for it - apparently MATSHI-TA (no hyphen) doesnt exist anymore or was bought out by panasonic or something, but any of the help i could get would be much appreciated

another thing, when i plug up the internet, via ethernet, i dont get a signal - is this also a driver issue? i told him i'd have it fixed by wednesday (it was supposed to be done last week) and if anyone could help me out, that would be awesome, thanks

I'm assuming your friend doesn't have the Dell CD with the drivers on it?
    Try this for the CD-ROM.

Does the ethernet card show up as a question mark in the device manager?
