    Hi,

Like the title states, I'm using a Dell Inspiron i1520. My screen is stuck at 800 resolution, and I can't change it. The screen has a slight staticy condition, very light. And the screen is split in half, but not really in half, more like 55 and 45...

Anyways, it's split by a very thing white line. I can't change the resolution, as stated. I've tried rebooting and I updated my nVidia driver to no avail. I haven't messed with any of the hardware components. This happened this morning when I turned it on. Last night, I was moving it back and forth from one room to another, so maybe something got loosened.

I think that is all the information I can provide, thank you for the help.

Could be a GPU failing/failure, but these definitely aren't the traditional symptoms. Try re-seating the display connector? What happens on an external display?
