I have never had a laptop or notebook prior to this- last was a old gateway so I am new to those- I have my own work computer (work from home) so they take care of everything.

The notebook was purchased in March at a best buy. I do not use it for anything other than surfing the net, email, chat, etc. don't download files, very basic. For two months no problems, always do windows updates, purchased Mcafee run all the standard stuff and updates.

Wireless router is separate from work computer router they have nothing to do with each other---

It starts becoming extremely slow and then stalling out as I call it- I have had many problems before with my work computer so I know some tricks and tried the dell repair online etc etc....all of it. So after I can't even sign back into it- I get dump file error, then operating system failure. During that week my system would not shut down properly so every time I got back on I would get do you want to start in a safe mode etc etc, I tried restoring it to a different time, everything nothing would work. So after operating system failure I ship it off to dell for hard drive #2 again this computer is 3 months old. Hard drive two comes back two days ago- I restablish windows, mcafee and get back to basics, then same stuff again, starts stalling, won't pull up internet and when it does it looks like its going to pull something up and stalls out again, I don't lose power or my screen, it just hangs and does nothing.

So I call yesterday after two hours of complaining of course can't get a refund since its 20 days or older... fine.. I just want something that works right - I know refurbished and hate the word because I have had hard drives replaced on my work computer.

Tech comes out today with hard drive 3 since its my only choice and they make an exception and don't charge me for him coming out, thanks alot wow..so generous anyway---

After tech replaces hard drive 3 is in and SAME BS this time can't even get mcafee loaded- I do a hour long remote session with them and they finally get the fact that this is a lemon - and its either hard drive and or something else. Then I hear this is not that common to happen -Again its three months old all I do is surf, email, chat - don't print, don't have anything external attached to it, none of that. I am disgusted with dell told them I'd file a report with the BBB just to see if that would motivate them to send me a new unit, again refurbished I get it, not new.

Thanks so much for any advice.

sorry forgot today - also had driver error messages, this is not loaded correct etc.... don't know if that helps - again they did remote in and after that hour of realizing I can't even sign into anything because it hangs halfway through etc etc see above---- also I thought this was just normal- but in reading through posts I can't believe I missed this also- the thing was running very hot on the bottom - I only run it maybe 2 hours to 3 at the most and not every day- it was very hot on the bottom - and I am sure that has nothing to do with a hard drive?
