    Dell Inspirion 5160 Bios Chip

    Hi,

    My dell laptop is not working properly, my hardware engineer says that the laptops motherboard bios chip has been spoilt and needs to be replaced.

    I am unable to get the same here in my city, i would apprecaite if any one can help me get the same or provide me a locaiton where i could get it.

    If any one has the information or any info abt the same which i can use pls let me know.

    How can he diagnose and say the BIOS chip is the problem? That seems like a pretty large claim to make. Can you describe the problem to us and the hardware that you have in the laptop?

    The technician has the tools to do the same, it took him a few days to decide that.

    The below is what happens..
    when i power on the laptop, all that happens is the fan starts and shuts down in a few seconds. There is no display and the only lights that come up are a orange and green light
