I knew that, but bug is present, and EIST do not work :( So CPU that can work with 2.6 GHz, now work at 1.2GHz :( and that is problem!

why dont you try to contact dell and notify them about the lack of penryn support in 1520? they are the only ones who can release new BIOS for their systems. so let them know of this issue.

Your CPU is an ES one, so it is possible that even an updated bios can't recognize it properly...

Yeah, I hope you didn't pay retail for an Engineering Sample. If you did, I would suggest trying to return it. Engineering samples are not always final retail silicone and could be why your laptop is not recognizing it properly.

Also engineering samples are usually multiplier unlocked but most retail laptop mobos/bioses can't adjust these settings, so you're probably getting the lowest default which would explain the low speed.

Intel usually gives out ES samples for marketing purposes and rarely asks for return.

Only to journalists, reviewers, PR departments and personels, partners...etc. I myself also got some before. If you are just an ordinary user but you can do something that bring them big benefit, they will give u the ES, too. :)
