    Hello, friends!

It's been some time since I've sought assistance here, and I've returned now that my mother has purchased for herself a Dell Inspiron 1564. Being a typical technology-impaired elder, she asked me to set up her system for her. Specifically, she wants me to connect her to our internet. However, I can't for the life of me figure this out.

My router is set on WPA security, but I was able to connect to it without a problem when I purchased my current system - input a password and go. When I try to connect it on her system, it bypasses the password prompt and simply states that it cannot connect. As I try to figure out the problem, I am met with several warnings along the lines of "connect a cable" or "connect a network adapter."

Her system is this laptop from Best Buy:

We have a 2wire router. (Sorry for not providing more information here! I'll provide as needed, however).

Any assistance is appreciated. I'm sure I myself sound a bit technology-stupid, but I'm just confused as to this whole thing. Thank you!

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center

Manually Connect to a Wireless Network

Should allow you to enter a password. Be sure to type in the network name correctly.

Well, what do you know, that was an easy fix.

Thank you very much for your help, Lithus! I'm surprised that it required that runaround, however, since I have never had to do that before.

In any case, thank you again!
