Hi, I'm from Canada and I am interested of buying Inspiron 9400.

My questions are, which is better way to purchase online or by phone? Are there any difference? Can we get better deal on phone? If so, what type of deal I can get from phone (free upgrades etc)?

Whats the ideal price for Inspiron 9400 with following Specification:

    Core Duo T2400
    1 GB DDR2 Ram 553
    120 GB 5400 HD
    7900 Nvidia Video Card
WUXGA (would love to get it)

Also, which warranty do I need?

My budget is around $1800 CAD (including tax) but could be over for a great deal.

    Sorry for too many questions.

    Thanks.

Somtimes you can get better deals through phone. I ordered an e1505 and decided that I wanted to change the video card...so I called Dell to cancel it and order a new one. I ordered my new laptop from phone and it was almost $150 (US) cheaper.

I just called Dell, and the maximum they could offer is free laptop bag or $50 CAD off.
Can you tell me how to bargain properly (what to say etc.)

remember that all the "deals" that most people get are after-the-fact. either they've changed their mind or something got messed up on their order. that is when they call in to "bargain".

i don't know how much luck you will have getting a bunch of swag as a new customer; i'm not saying you can't, i'm just saying that most of the stuff you read about here are people that have already bought a system and then had a reason to go back and try to get a better deal.

I got an additional discount from the online price when I called. It's not likely that you will meet your budget for the specs you quoted. I got the system in my sig for $2210CDN all in, with 3yr NBD warranty.

I just priced out a 9400 last night, same specs as you wanted but with a T2500 instead, and it was 1749 before tax.
