I was wondering from those that have experence, when your custom Dell anything is ordered and you check on the progress in your accout. Mine says ordered, preproduction and production with 4 subheadings not checked off. Kitting, Build, testing, box something like that. I was wondering if they actully keep it that detailed because mines been on building 3 days and no new check marks. Like anyone I'm very egar to get my new dell product and waiting is killing me.

so did you finally figure it out what happens? Do you know after testing what comes next?
-
Mine went from confirmed to in production, and pretty much stayed there. When I received my laptop (almost a week before the estimated ship date), it still said in production. So, I wouldn't really use that as an accurate indicators of the stage your system is in.

I ordered mine the 9th of this month, and yesterday it said it was shipped...I looked up the track order and it said it stopped at Waco for the night so it should be here this afternoon!
-
I ordered a M1530 yesterday morning and an hour later it said it was in production. In fact, the external monitor I ordered with the laptop was shipped out last night and will be delivered here today. I would expect the laptop within 3-5 business days. -
Dont be so sure....remember the external monitor is already built and ready to ship.
Preproduction= Awaiting funds/financing approval
Production=awaiting build, build in Malaysia, shipping to plant, OS and Imaging, final testing
Pre-Packaging=boxing
then shipped.... -
My Premier rep expected it to be here by Friday or Monday and Dell aways exceeds customer expectations when it comes to delivery dates. We'll soon see!
-
they don't update the stats every day sometimes it will still in production and you already have the laptop in hand.
From when you order it and when you recieve it, it should take 11-14 days if they have all parts -
kboyer, u r going to connect monitor directly to M1530
or are u using an external usb? if so what external
usb port are u using?
thanks, Mary -

Hopefully going DVI to DVI will keep the image quality in good shape. -
kboyer, i'm going to check out the Belkin u mentioned.
I'm confused by some of the forum threads that say there is no docking stations per se for the new M1530's.
Thanks so much for u'r help.
