I purchased my XPS M1530 in mid December, a week before the cutoff of Dec 20th for the offer of a $200 gift card on selected purchases.(Including mine, $2000 configuration and the card was offered in my checkout cart and mentioned by the sales rep)

I have not yet received my card 9 weeks later.

At 7 weeks, I began to follow up with Dell.

After a telephone hell of being passed back and forth between Customer Care and Sales, the final answer is "Sorry, your purchase doesn't qualify"

However, no one will let me speak to a supervisor, nor can they tell me WHY my purchase doesn't qualify. Despite having printouts of the cart advertising it, screenshots of the offer timestamped the date in question and emails going back and forth from Dell confirming I qualified.

Has anyone else run into this "Bait and Switch" issue?

Anyone else received their gift cards?

I'm about to contact the BBB, because this is ridiculous.

Did you by any chance change anything in your order?

I purchased 2 laptops in November when the $500 off was offered and I received two $200 gift cards.

I got my giftcards. They actually had like a list of the gift cards they sent out. Took the rep I asked like 10 minutes to pull them up.

It wasn't in my cart tho

That does sound ridiculous. How can they not send you the gift card if it's on your invoice/order and confirmed in emails?

I'd keep contacting them in addition to contacting the BBB.

This really is alarming. I still haven't received my gift cards yet either and I ordered my initial m1330 around december.

I hope all turns out well for all of us

Never changed anything in the order.

    Keep pushing.

Step one is to get Sales to admit that the order qualifies.

Step two is to get Customer Care to add your name to the list if it isn't there.

I'm fighting to get Customer Care to accept Sale's answer that it does qualify.

I already contact the BBB and am awaiting a responce.

I had the EXACT problem with my M1330...they told me I was only eligible for a 100 dollar gift card and I said I was unhappy with it, told them I like dell love the laptop, basically BS'd the guy and he said what do you plan on buying with it? I told him what I wanted and he talked with his supervisor and got back to the phone and told me he was going to give me 150.00 towards the item and free next day air shipping, so I just got a 16GB SSD expresscard slot style for like 50 bucks...Go Dell!

The EXACT same thing happened to me. Last week I called to see where the card was and was told "only certain system configurations qualify; yours did not." Well, that's Bull$hit. If I recall, it was based solely on the amount of your order (1500.00 or more I believe.) I got the usual Dell runaround and just hung up. Worse, because I purchased the system for use at work by a firefighters charity, the sales person told me that our sales tax would be refunded. That was bogus too. I want to strangle somebody at Dell. Scratch that- everyone at Dell.

Similar situation here. I purchased a 1420 and used the $500 coupon. Dell told me I didn`t qualify for the $200 gift card because the $500 lowered the price of my laptop. After much haggling I got a supervisor to give me $100 off the bill. About 6 weeks later the $200 gift card showed up in the mail. If the card is listed on your order you still may get it. Dont give up.

I highly recommend that those that have not yet received their holiday gift card visit this link http://www.dellcommunity.com/suppor...thread.id=93901&view=by_date_ascending&page=1 while there, PM Dell Todd with your order number and he can help you with the gift card. I PM'ed him my order number on 2-28 and received a phone call today from a Dell Sales Resolution Specialist saying that I will be receiving the gift card within 21 days. She even sent me a confirmation e-mail.

Our order was placed at the end of November.

We got ours at the beginning of January ($200).

Used it on Jan 30, no problems.

To all who have been scammed by Dell's Gift Card Promo:

I was in the same gift card scam. I took someone's advice from this board who suggested to contact someone on the Dell Forum ( http://www.dellcommunity.com/suppor...?board.id=cc_general&message.id=96583#M96583).

The issue has been resolved since I sent a private message to Todd explaining my situation. Todd forwarded my issue to someone at Dell's Sales Resolution Specialist Team. They were responsive and credited my DPA $210.00.

If yours is on your invoice, you need to have a Manager pull it up. Sometimes getting to a manager can be difficult, but its not impossible. Get transfered to Sales, they have managers who walk the "rows" of people, they can literraly raise their hands and get their manager on the phone. From there you get your Invoice pulled up and if they keep denying you your card thats on the invoice then you tell them about your complaint with the BBB and possible furtuer small claims litigation to could be had.

I purchased my 1530 on 1/4, and was told that the $200 gift card would be carried over from the 12/31 Holiday exp. date. It was applied to my order (as a courtesy from a horrible situation I had w/a Kiosk order, since cancelled).

My gift card even appeared via e-mail with order confirmation.

So, I patiently waited out the 8 weeks for my gift card to arrive, in fact 9 weeks before I started the process of "where is my gift card". After, contacting Dell and finding out that I actually didn't qualify, I was told I was outside of the "qualifying period".

I got a tad *feisty* at that point with Dell. After, putting up a "fuss" with Dell, they finally agreed to just let me order over my $200 worth of gift card amount over the phone. They refused to issue me the gift card, but they would let me get what I wanted by phone!!!

This was the one time that Dell had let me down. But, when they agreed to let me get the things I wanted, I walked away happy. ;)

I just wasn't happy with the stress, I was put thru as a Dell customer. And, I wish that sometimes...The big companies, such as Dell would see it on an actual "customers perspective". ;) :) And, then maybe they would understand what *stress* is, and good customer service is...You know walk in the customers *shoes* for once??? ;) :)
