What is the difference between a regular 14.1" laptop with a regular screen and one with hi-def screen? That's what it says for the Dell laptops 1420 and 1520 and probably all of them. But I never saw them use that term for the models before such as the e1705. Does the hi-def have better resolution?? The laptops long time ago had same resolution as the ones that are out now and they were never called hi-def widescreens...

Is there a difference or are they using the terms as a marketing ploy??

Marketing ploy... Technically anything capable of displaying 1080x720(which includes the lowest res. offered by dell, 1280x800) is high def.
