Got an Inspiron 6400/1505E andI'm trying to restore the factory image from the recovery partition (D). However, when I have booted using F8 and selected the options to get to this option, select next and the mchine says that it's now formatting my C drive I get a blank error message i.e. no text or title. Has anyone ever seen this before, or know what I can do to get around/fix this?

    Thanks very much

First, is the recovery partition still intact? Do you have the CD/DVDs to use instead?
