guys, i had purchased a extended one year warranty for DELL XPS (default oneyear warranty expired) on 23rd march, by the transferring the 9000/- to the DELL bank account.
i got my order confirmation on 24th.
on 25th they sent their technician to repair my HDD, after some argument with the DELL customer service dept. over the phone, I decided this warranty was not suitable for me and asked for a refund.
i was transferred back to the person whom I bought this warranty from MS. Nanditha Reddy and she told me (after a lot of argument and fighting) I will get my refund in 20-25 days back in bank account.
Now she has not sent me any email confirmation regarding the same (refund status) and have got no reply regarding the same.
i have emailed her repeatedly but no reply from her.
what is the next step I need to take ? where can I complain regarding this poor service of DELL and ask for my refund immediately.
is she really processing my refund ? (as she is not attending my calls and not replying to my emails, i smell something is fishy.)
or should i not worry and trust on her word, as she said, I will be getting my refund.
can someone /anyone give me any advice on this , as to how to proceed, I would highly appreciate that.

if im reading this right you used new warranty to get HHD fixed and then decided you dont want it. if so then you should owe dell for the fix.

Normally Dell allows for some grace period after the 12 months, but if you filed a claim right after the extension then asked for a refund, seems kinda fishy..

no guys, you din get me....
my dell xps default warranty of 1 year was over abt 6 moths back,
i had a problem with HDD after that, i called dell customer support on 21st and told tehm abt problem, they said, i am out of warranty and I have an issue with my HDD.
so for that to get fixed, i will first hv to purchase the 1 year warranty, and then they will send over a tech to replace the HDD and install the OS.
i had told them clearly, i want the OS to be installed by them, as I do not have any DVD or CD of windows !!
they said they will do it.
but when the tech came in, he said he wil only fix the HDD and not install the OS.
then i called dell support in his presence and talked to them,
they refused to transfer me to the guy who had committed me to install the OS, and said, they cannot install the OS.
i said fine, i do not want the new HDD just cancel my warranty and refund my money.
they said fine it will be done in 20-25 working days.
hope its clear now guys !!
any replies will be highly appreciated.

Not sure how it works outside the US, but all dell drives are loaded with an OS. I've got my HDD's replaced by Dell on multiple occasions and all drives came with an OS pre-installed. You can also make your own OS disk by downloading an ISO image of windows. Good luck.

anodize, thanks for the reply.
i got really pissed, becoz i had made it clear with them that I want the OS to be installed on my laptop before purchasing the warranty. and they had said they will do so.
now when the repair guy came in.
they 'customer support' people were so un-co-operative, they were telling to go and get down a blank DVD disc, so the technician can check your system ....
i mean, they were telling me to go to the super-market while the technician waits in my house and get parts to test the system..
its their duty to hav all stuff to check the system...
and they were so rude and were trying to dominate over me in teh conversations.
after a while talking abt the refund, i had recored the conversation , so in future if they deny refunding the money (if i do not get it after 20-25 days asp romised) i will simply tell them i hv the conversation recorded ....
DELL SUCKSSSS BIG TIME !! -
You understand its like 2 screws to swap a hard drive, right? I don't understand why you don't just ask for a preloaded hard drive to be sent out.
-or-
You can buy a replacement hard drive on Newegg for ~$60 then purchase a DELL OEM Windows CD on ebay for ~$50 and be done with it.
Problem solved.
In this instance, I think your problem with Dell has more to do with you then them... -
i would be a happy, if dell had sent me a preloaded hard drive.
but they sent me a blank HDD and told me to buy windows from outside.
they had promised me before purchasing the warranty that they will be instaling the windows OS on my HDD, but later refused.

Most Dell drives I get for my workplace as we fix them under warranty aren't imaged at all. -
