My Dell Latitude E6400 was exchanged 1 year into the warranty. All search results on this forum indicate that a laptop exchanged this late would have been built using refurbished parts. Yet, the packaging and replacement laptop itself look absolutely brand new. Does this mean I received a brand new replacement laptop, or was it nonetheless built using refurbished parts?

The E6400 is still an active model, which means that a replacement can be new.

If it's a refurb there's a big green or yellow sticker on the bottom cover saying so. If there isn't, you've got a new lappy! :D
