So, I visited the EPP store @ Dell today, and noticed they got rid of the old pricing discounts.

Now it is 7% for all purchases.

If your system is less than $1600, your discount went from 8% to 7%. Not too big of a deal, but it still stinks.

If your system was more than $1600, the discount fell from 12% to 7%! I don't know about you guys, but that is enough for me to reconsider any purchase with them!

Also, those discounts stack with a 2-4% off for using the Dell Credit Card...which is how I got 16% off of my system. Working with a rep by phone got me almost another 5% off on top of that!

Perhaps that products that Dell offer are still a great value, perhaps not so much any more. But if you configure a system that is more than $1600, I think it is your duty to ask the sales reps to kick in larger discounts to close the sale...we all know they have the margin to do so if they were giving 12% before!

If Dell wants more money, all they gotta do is sell better computers. Not drop discounts.

    Dell fail.

Aren't their XPS notebooks overpriced for "last gen" technology?

The 12% discount was based on the purchase of a 3-4 year service agreement. The base discount was always around 6%.

    I know...and when I recently configured a $1600 machine with a 3-year warranty...it showed as only a 7% discount.

They seem to have made one big global discount, which does nothing but line their pockets with more money.

    Our UK EPP discount is
    3% up to £599 ($1200)
    6% £600-£1199 ($1200-2300)
    10% £1200 and up

But then again, we pay a lot more than you for the products anyway
