    Plz dont mind my sig.....i have xp installed now. I have a 120gb harddrive. after xp is installed i have 111gb. now i have 87.9gb after programs and games and etc is installed. i have norton magic installed and i want to install vista and create a parittion for it on my laptop. ive done but..the space always comes out un even.70 for xp and 20 for vista... but vista will be like 18gb or 19gb...plz help

    I don't know about that, but my E1705 is identical to yours except for the RAM -- I have 2 gb -- and it is sluggish compared to my D630 with a T7300 cpu. I'd be more worried about trying to run Vista Ultimate on 1 gig of memory.

    I don't exactly understand the problem... are you saying even if you choose to create a 20GB partition Norton only makes an 18-19GB partition instead? If that's it case it's probably normal; Norton's just spitting out GB in the "fake" GB used by the hardware vendors.

    that is what is happening. so shuld i make it 21gb or 22gb?
