Is there any specific link on how to cleanup a notebook from any unwanted soft bloat ware.I ordered a DELL e1705 and I realize it will come with lots of junk preinstalled.

You can try to remove the junkware, but this normally leaves folders and registry keys on your laptop, so your laptop isn't 100% clean.

you could have purchased the OS CD with the system for $7-10.

Cleaning up the system is unrealistic. you really have to reformat, just don't delete the ~5GB restore partition

You can contact Dell's Tech Support (either by chat or phone) and ask for the XP disc. Also request:
    Cyberlink PowerDVD
    Sonic Record Now
Dell Media Experience (only if you have XP Home or Pro)
