    Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade a E1705 HD. Lets say upgrading it from a 80GB 5400 HD to a 60GB 7200 HD? How much would it cost if it's possible? Thanks in advance.

    Justin.

    Sure.
The price depends on how cheap you can find a HD from a shop like newegg and zipzoomfly.

Prices should range from around 90-120. Sometimes online stores will offer discounts, however. Also, make sure to get an SATA drive - I've heard of some people accidently going out and buying ATA-6 drives, which won't be compatable with the E1705.

So something like a Seagate Momentus 7200.1 ST980825AS 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache Serial ATA150 Notebook Hard Drive - OEM? Thanks again.

Alright thanks. I'm thinking of purchasing a 7200RPM HD off of NewEgg instead of Dell because it's too expensive :(

Dell's parts are almost always overpriced - I would only buy from them if I was to do a GPU upgrade.
