What are the difference between integrated Audio and Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™ HD Software Edition? I don't know what extra you get for $25 upgrade

The 25$ is a software upgrade..includes things like EAX sound processing, equilizer etc...I've had it and it's not bad. If you use high quality headphones for music, the synthetic sound it can give music may not be what you want, but for games and casual music listening it can be ok.

as far as I can tell, the integrated audio with now audigy upgrade still sounds **** good. And I listen to a lot of classical/symphonic music so I need some good quality to pick out all the different instruments and these are fine.

I def got this upgrade. I will occasionally hook these up to my DJ system and pound some music :) This software would be very useful.

I couldn't tell the difference in using the SB Audigy software and using the sound processing in iTunes. Other than one was free, iTunes actually sounded cleaner on my Sennheiser HD485's ... My opinion is its a waste of $25.00 ... but it is only my opinion.

You can orer it without, and if it was like mine, it will ship with a 30 day working demo. I could then upgrade for $20 (not $25). I gave it a try, then unistalled.

I have the SB Audigy software that came along with my PCMCIA Creative Audigy card - would I be able to just install the software on my E1705, which doesn't have a PCMCIA slot?

I also see the upgrade option for $20, however I don't see a "30-Day" Demo in order to see if it's even worth it. I have the creative Mixer, but it has no options other than a few volume controls found in the normal Volume Control with windows.

How much extra CPU does this Audigy Software Edition actually use?

So this is just a software upgrade - this is not a different sound card? Doesn't make the laptop heavier or anything?

PS: The only software I pay for is Windows :)

You can get software which will do extra the same thing as the Audigy for free.

Heck, winamp's preset's work just as good.
