The Dell includes a lot of bloatware preinstalled. I'd like to do a fresh install of windows but like most new systems, it doesn't include any restore CDs. I have a store purchased Win XP already, but I want to make sure there won't be any driver problems, for example the media buttons on front. Before performing a fresh install of windows, do I need to do anything?

    Thanks.

You need all the drivers to have everything working properly

The keyboard, the media buttons, touch pad, will all work.

But you should at least download the network drivers before you reformat, so you will have internet.

Things you should download, and put on a memory key, or cd, or another computer, and transfer it over to your E1505:

    Applications:
    Quickset
    Audio Drivers:
SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio
    Chipset:
    Intel Mobile Chipset
    Ricoh R5C832
    Communication Drivers:
    Conexant D110,HDA,MDC,v.92,modem
    Input Device Drivers:
    Synaptics Touchpad
    Network Drivers:
    Whatever card you have
    Video Card Drivers:
    Whatever Video card you have
When you start it up, the resolution will be huge and distorted. The video card driver will eliminate this.
