Alright so here's what I'm ordering and the price etc

15.4 wsxga lcd (best they had)
    2.0ghz core 2 duo
    2gigs 667mhz ram
    100gig 7200RPM HD
    256mb graphics
    xp mediacenter with vista upgrade
    WIFI and upgraded 9cell battery
1592.12 with free shipping, taxes and a coupon.

What kind of battery life can I expect and is this a good deal? Best coupon I could find. Thanks

On battery, I keep my brightness on level 5, which is brighter than power saver. I also do not let the machine go into hibernation, nor power down wifi or hdd. I pretty much keep my machine on performance, except the fact that I let the processor "speedstep" take me down to 1 GHZ. I get between 3:15 and 3:25 battery time with the 9 cell.

    1505
    2 GHZ Core 2 Duo
    1 GHZ DDR2 SDRAM
    120 GB HDD
    ATI x1400 w' 256 mb
    XP MCE 2005
Dell 1500 Draft N Wifi Card
    15.4" WSXGA+ LCD (I Love it)
    4 Year Warranty

Yes...you got a decent deal. The 1505 is very highly rated and respected. You are gonna love this machine...

One thing that I will advise with it is when you put it in and out of your bag be pretty careful with it, the paint tends to scuff easily on it. Mine is scuffed up with it and I'm fairly careful with it, I'm sure I could be more careful but other times I'm in a hurry. Just a little tip.

I have a similar build that you have and if you tone down the Contrast you can get about 3:45 with regular use and 4:15 with internet surfing.

Nearly $1600 sounds high to me.

Before you buy, try this link: http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?cs=19&kc=1&oc=dnpcey1&x=0&y=0

It's my first post here, but it's a valid link / not referral / not anything... whatever all can be done. I just ordered mine on Friday night with it (E1505), should be here just after Christmas. Can't wait!

    Among the specs:
    Core 2 Duo T7200 2Ghz
    15.4" WSXGA Ultrasharp
1GB RAM (I will increase this via Newegg some day when Vista comes out)
    Radeon X1400
    80GB 7200RPM
    Draft-N Wireless
    8X DVD Burner
    9 cell battery
    Bluetooth

It came to $1104 plus tax (and free shipping)

There's so many codes and combinations out there it's hard to tell what's best. But before you buy, give that one a shot. It's better than anything else I had been able to find.

Yea it seems a little high to me. My specs are similar to yours with a few exceptions and I payed 917 after taxes but that was after a 30% coupon they had a while back. Christmas isnt a good time to buy a laptop because dell seems to be increasing their prices rather than lowering. If i were you i would wait for a decent coupon and probably after the holidays
