    Dell E1505 Desktop Loading Problem

    I've DELL INSPIRON E1505 WITH XP AND MEDIA DIRECT OPTIONS.
    I'VE USED A MEDIA CD AND WATCHED IT. BUT LATER ON WHEN I TRIED TO RELOGON INTO XP, MY DESKTOP IS NOT LOADING AND ITS SIMPLY BLANK. I'VE JUST THE DESKTOP BACK GROUND IMAGE IS VISIBLE BUT NOT ICONS. EVEN THE OTHER KEY BOARD BUTTONS ARE NOT FUNCTIONAING EXCEPT <CTRL+ALT+DEL>.

    CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME ASAP IN LETTING ME KNOW HOW I CAN RESTORE MY DESKTOP AND OPERATE XP OR SWITCH OVER BETWEEN MEDIA DIRECT AND XP ....

    Most likely, there is some software that is taking forever to load, which would cause your desktop to load, but not icons to appear for awhile.

    Have you reformatted? Does this happen all the time? Have you installed any software recently?
