Hello,
I'm looking for something to cooldown my laptop while gaming or doing something else. I heard about some things with fans on which you plug the laptop by USB. I just want to know about models of this things and if anyone have experienced this type of thing.
Thanks

How about a cooling pad?

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
Are you running the fan by default? If you use a program like I8kfangui, you can usually run the system at load around the same temp as your max idle. If you dont mind fan noise, run the fan at low constant, then kick it on high around 40c. Cooling pads are good things, I use one, but seldom reduce temps by more than 5 degrees C.

thx Iceman!
I was talking about a cooling pad.. I forgot the name lol. I have I8kfangui, but i never used it to control my fan.. i used it just to read my temp. Well, I guess I'll do what you said (I'll always run the fan at slow speed).. And yes, I really don,t care about the noise
But, for my information, in which direction should I look for a cooling pad for my Inspirion 6400? -
How about the quad cooler?:
link
Or you could do it the EL cheapo way...
I have a 5" 24V fan sitting on the end of the laptop shooting tons of across the laptop. It moves more air and cools faster than any cooler out there..
I put fan grills on the back and front, not to get injured, and BAM it's good to go... -
Vantec makes very good cooling pads.

A VANTEC LPC-420 LAPCOOL 4 NOTEBOOK COOLER will fit my laptop?
-

Get something by cooler master. I have Notepal, and it works great. It is a huge hunk of aluminum with two fans strapped to the bottom. And trust me, the aluminum is better than anything plastic you could ever buy. It acts as a giant heat sink, and funnels the heat away. It runs off a usb port, but dont worry about battery life. I actually get BETTER battery life with it than without it.
Go and check out the different types too.

It is the best you can get. Most other coolers I have seen do not work too well, but often simply because they are made of thick, non conductive plastic. -
get the targus chillmat.. that's what i have for 30$ it's very good.
-
is it in plastic?
-
Bman, I looked for cooler master ..
Should I be okay with the notepal or should I take the notepal W1 (400 mm long instead of 320 mm)
You said you have the notepal.. so can I assume that you have the regular one which is 320 mm long. You use it with a E1505 ?? -
Anyone can answer my question?
-
Still no answer
Iceman : what cooling pad do you have? -
I use the targus chill mat and it has worked great for me. it doesnt fit the whole base of the 6400 but i just position it to be all the way to the right of the base and it was ran for hours no problems and keeps it very cool to the touch. It does not push a lot of air and it is made of plastic but it gets the job done. Since it doesnt fully fit the bottom base as soon as it breaks i am going to get one of these http://www.xpad4laptop.com/ because i have read great reviews on it and it does not use a fan.
