I just got my E1505/6400... I'm pretty impressed with it.. I have a Inspiron 6000 and the E1505 is definitely a bit lighter..

This new notebook seems to work well... However, when i plug in the A/C adaptor i get this very strong hissing noise... It's very annoying and i know it has to do with the a/c b/c it's not there or barely noticable when it's running on battery..

I've tried researching the problem and have found other people who have this problem.. But nobody seems to have a solution.. What i want to know is how prevelant this problem is... Should I try to return the laptop to Dell?? I've notice people with the 1705 insprion have similar problems.. I dunno what to do..

The inspiron 6000 - doesn't make this noise - I tested it... In fact i used the power cord (3 prong) adaptor from the 6000 on the E1505 and it worked fine but the hiss was still there... So i dunno what the deal is..

    What should I do? Thanks
