Hello guys, my dell is starting to fall apart(wobbly screen, hinges feel like about to break, silver fading) after about 1.5 years. I have a 3 year warranty and about 1.5 years left. Should i complain to dell about it eventhough they don't make my laptop anymore or go an buy a new one and use the e1505 as a backup. Also i have regular warranty no accident warranty

They might send you a refurb.
I don't think they'd do it for cosmetic wear and tear, but a wobbly screen is more than cosmetic.

I don't think anybody here works for Dell, so it's tough to say what they will exactly do.

Fact is, you purchased a warranty and the laptop is still under warranty. Contact Dell and ask them what they can do for you in terms of repair/replacement/trade in. There is no reason for them not to accomodate you in some fashion; again, the warranty is still in place. You paid for it, so use it.

Specifically, I doubt anyone here can tell you what's going to happen. Dell is fairly flaky in terms of customer service; dunno what you'll get good or bad. Just give them a call tomorrow and see what they offer. There's not much more we can do for you here.

    Good luck. :)

Trust me... Dell has the parts for an E1505. That model was just recently discontinued. They never have problems with parts for my i5160 and that was discontinued over 2 years ago.

Is there a line where a screen wobbles to much. Its not like I think it will just break but if i put it in a fixed position it wobbles, if i touch it. Also the silver is fading away from the palm rests and the media buttons.

They're still making the 1501 which should be using a similar if not identical chassis to the 1505.

the fading of the palm rests is normal wear and tear which they wont replace. They may give you a new lcd panel to fix the wobbly screen if you play your cards right.

They should have parts for your system, they might not have the same parts for this specific system but they have similar parts that they can use for substitution.
