    Dell E1405/640m LCD Screen Manufacturers !!!

    From what i understand, the e1405/640m has 3 possible screen manufacturers... samsung, auo, and lg? i was wondering which one of the 3 is the best on the e1405. thanks.

    mine is Quanta Ltd.
    i read in this forum samsung is the worst in 640m.
    I havent received my notebook it will come in next week.

    My config shows the abbreviations "LPL" poth on the d/l you mentioned and the device driver settings. I know its not a Samsung so what is it?

    how did u find out ur LCD manufacturer before u received the notebook itself? can u check online somehow?

    I think you go into "My Accounts" on the Dell website and it should tell you the specs

    In terms of my screen... I am sorry, I dont know how to compare it. I had two 640m systems. The first one I had to send back for defect. The 1st system had the Samsung screenn and I guess like you said, my second one (the one I am using right now) is a LG. In my opinion, comparing the two screens, I would say this one is a bit better but really, my opinion can be very off par to what you people might think. I am satisfied with the screen.
    It looks to be sharper for sure compared to the Samsung.
