I'm not sure if someone have came across this issue before.
My lovely laptop DELL E1405 Inspiron was working fine until yesterday and unfortunately today while i switched it on, It wasn't starting as usual and instead the two LEDs to the left of the power switch were flashing.

The screen is dark and i couldn't see anything.

Can someone suggest me how to work around this to solve this issue?

Pls help.. I have had no problems with my laptop for the past 1.5 yrs ...

Can you be more specific ? (to the left of the power switch there are several indicators: Bluetooth, Wi-fi, scroll , Caps & Num lock).

Do you hear any beeps, or see any hard disk activity (does the HDD indicator blink/hear the HDD working)?

Are you running on Battery or Main power ?

Many thanks for your reply phoenixfx, Here are the answers for your questions

    1. To the left of power switch , there are 3 LEDs and in my case, CAPS and Numlock are the ones which keeps blinking.

    2. There is no sound or HDD activity either

    3. I have tried both (battery and mainpower) , but the notebook response was the same

Do they blink 10 times and afterwards does your notebook shutdown ?

Take a look at this thread : Caps Lock flashes 10 times (could be the same thing... even though that thread is about DELL Latitudes)
Seems like a memory seating problem.
