I am interested in buying a laptop -> tablet convertible because I want both the touch screen for drawing on my notes and a physical keyboard. I have discovered the new Dell Duo, and was wondering if anyone had any input? Also, other suggestions of what would satisfy my needs would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

Right now Dell is offering a deal for the Inspiron 14R and the Duo for $699, seems like a good deal as the Duo is like $400 by itself, thinking about getting it for myself.

Afaik, the Duo's touchscreen is purely capacitive... meaning you'll need a capacity stylus to write on it. Writing with a capacity stylus is, quite frankly, rubbish. If you've ever tried using one with an iPad or other "modern" tablet, that's what writing on the Duo is going to be like.

At the same time, that 14R + Duo for $699 seems like a decent deal, but I'd consider investing in a proper convertible tablet (even if you have to go last-gen - it'll still be faster than Atom) ie XT2, X200 Tablet, or 2370p.

Ya I second Commander Wolf's suggestion, the Duo seemed like a good idea but the result was a slow and unresponsive tablet IMO. We had one at work, 599 for an Atom tablet IMO is super overpriced. For that you can find in warranty X200 Tablet's, spend into the 900 range and you can get the X220 Tablet, which offers Sandy Bridge.
