Recently, I have my newly reformat Dell Dimentions E521. As I’m not a techie person (it’s my first time to reformat my PC, following step-by-step onscreen instructions lol). My question is, do I still have to install my drivers manually, or Dell has a feature that scans my PC to tell me which drivers I need? If I have to manually do the installations, can anybody pinpoint to me the place where I can locate dell drivers? Also, how would I know if the drivers I’ve got are the latest ones? Is there a driver update/checker tool being offered for free? Many thanks in advance and I’ll appreciate all suggestions.

    Hello,

Look up your computer on Dell's Support website and chose your operating system to find the correct drivers . You could also enter your Tag # to get more specific drivers for your Desktop.

Take a look at this link that will take you to the Dell Support for the E521

I suggest you visit the Dell website and immediately go to the support section. In there, you will see an option where you can either enter your Service tag or model number. Personally, I find the service tag option better, as it will determine the correct model number and offer you a list of available drivers. Choose your operating system to install the right drivers.

If you need an alternative way, you can use a drivers update program that’s designed specifically to check your system for drivers installed, find available updates, and install them automatically so you won’t need to worry a bit. One site I know offers dell drivers as well as a drivers update tool for free.
