You realize those are "Estimated Delivery Times" right?

Odds are it won't take a month, however if it does, there really isn't anything you can do about it.

Actually odds are (at least if you're in the US) it IS going to take close to a month unless they've solved their battery shortage problems... And yes, not much you can do, except for taking a deep breath and trying to be patient.

Doesn't Dell (as part of their numerous sales agreements) actually have up to 30 days to deliver a laptop after it's been ordered?

Well if that's a legitimate policy, it'd be nice to find out where that's stated. There are some people here that have been waiting for 26 or 27 days.

Ideally maybe, but I personally waited three and a half weeks for mine and it looks like most people here have waited about the same time.

Well when I ordered mine on 6/3 my delivery estimate was 6/30. I emailed Dell two days ago and was told that the better video card was the hold up, not the 6 cell battery.

And yet the 6-cell still has the longest delay time.

Regular battery on the Vostro 1500 is delaying my order by about 5 weeks as things stand. Ordered May29th. Ship date Jul 1st.

Got another email today.. Dell run out of the 8600M GT card..

But they have said it will definitely be in before next Thursday.. which I hope it Is as Im off to Spain on the Saturday and need the Laptop!

Only thing is the new GPUS are going to be out soon.. I mean I would have nearly been better off waiting and Specing something like a 9500GTM from another supplier

FCC regulations I believe state that they have 30 days to ship the product to you. That would explain why those of us who have waited 27-30 days are getting the emails asking us for consent to delay again or giving us the option to cancel.

Either way Dell has you by the balls. Either consent and hopefully get your laptop in the next 2 weeks or cancel and wait up to 20 days to get your money refunded.
