Do we have to unpack the laptop in the presence of a Dell engineer for insurance and part issues ? If i unpack my laptop beforehand, will that mean that if something is missing i wont be compensated ? Or if something is broken, shipping insurance wont take care of it ?

I am asking this especially from people in India.

By unpack the laptop you mean opening the box when you receive a new notebook??

if that is what you are asking, then no one from DELL will deliver your notebook, they will simply use a local courier service. All you have to do it sign for it and take it from the delivery guy. Before you sign however, check if the seal is broken or whether the box is damaged; if everything looks ok, then take it. If you later find out that there is something wrong with the notebook or that it is missing some parts, then call DELL; they’ll take care of it.

Or are you talking about opening up (disassembling) the notebook ??
